The Fifth Judicial Circuit announced that limitations on trials are going to be extended to October 2020. The decision, based upon the Judicial Emergency that was declared in March of this year because of the COVID 19 virus. In limited circumstance criminal jury trials can move forward so long as CDC requirements can be met. Unfortunately, in the rural Courthouses meeting CDC guidelines will be next to impossible because of the size of the Courthouses.
